What's In My Toolbox
I have amassed a large amount of information, tips and tools that have helped me combat the effects of Lyme disease and brought me to a healthier lifestyle. I am not paid to endorse any products, but I know what works for me. Here are just some of those tips and tools for you to consider:
Detoxing:
Detoxing our bodies can be an important step to getting healthy. Long-term exposure to toxins (environmental pollutants, cancer-causing chemicals, preservatives, pesticides, heavy metals and industrial waste) can affect our metabolism, behavior, immune system and can lead to disease.
People who have Lyme disease often cannot detox as efficiently as they should, so here are five easy steps you can build into your daily routine to help your body detox:
1. Hot and cold showers -- When you first step into the shower, turn the water as hot as you can stand it and try and let the water shower over your for four or five minutes. Then turn the water as cold as you can stand for another few minutes. This process helps stimulate all your organs and helps to detox.
2. Epsom Salts -- Use in full bath and foot baths. Adds magnesium to the body in a natural way. The body will absorb what it needs. Other items you can add include baking soda, apple cider vinegar and sea salt.
3. Miracle II Soap -- Works as a natural detoxer use as a soap and in detox baths.
4. Natural Bristle Brush skin brushing -- Use every day before a bath or shower. Helps to detox the skin, which is our bodies easiest way to detox.
5. Castor Oil -- Place castor oil packs on different parts of your body. Originally started using them to detox the liver and then used them over breasts when I had estrogen dominance and a very very high risk of breast cancer. After addressing MTHFR and the use of castor oil packs, this is no longer an issue! Can even be used to cure toe fungus. To learn more, GO HERE.
Diet:
The food that you put in your body can make a huge difference in your overall wellness. Start treating food as medicine!
Basic Bone Broth Recipe
• 4 quarts water
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
• 2 large onions, unpeeled and coarsely chopped
• 2 carrots, scrubbed and coarsely chopped
• 3 celery stalks, coarsely chopped
• 1 bunch fresh parsley
• 2-3 garlic cloves, lightly smashed
• 2-4 lbs. meat or poultry bones
Place all ingredients in a large slow cooker set on high. Bring to a boil, and then reduce the setting to low for 12-24 hours. (sometimes it takes longer to get the gel. The gel is what has all the great nutrients in it.) Strain the stock through a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter into a large bowl, and discard the waste. You can make bone broth even if you don’t have a slow cooker. You can still reproduce this recipe on a stovetop, with a large pot on low heat. - Ph paper---Check ph of saliva and urine. Great way to make sure your body is working within the proper ph. I also test my water.
- Sunlight Infrared Sauna
- Coconut oil---Use with all cooking. I also use as a body moisturizer and add lavender essential oil.
- Sea Salt---I switched to natural Himalayan salt or sea salt in place of regular table salt. I also use it for my Vitamin C Salt protocol. I use this protocol for Babesia and other co-infections.
- SEOH Indicator strips to Detect Sulfate. Sulfate Quantofix Strips---I use these to keep track of my sulfur methylation.

Diet:
The food that you put in your body can make a huge difference in your overall wellness. Start treating food as medicine!
- Inflammation diet---We stopped consuming the 7 most inflammation foods; soy, corn, dairy, eggs, gluten, sugar and artificial sugar. This has made a big difference. We saw the most difference after doing the 10-day detox diet.
- Bone broth---Helps with joints, hair skin and nails, heals the GUT, replenishes minerals naturally and helps get the toxins out. Read more at http://undergroundwellness.com/top-5-reasons-why-bone-broth-is-the-bomb/ After listening to the digestion sessions a 28-hour program on digestion with many experts we decided to add bone broth into our diet. Bone broth is not intended to be a meal replacement. We drink it in place of hot tea or we add a protein or vegetable to make a mini meal. The absolute best thing about bone broth is that it gives the body what it needs without feeding pathogens. It is good at body balancing.
